15 brick kilns running without zigzag technology razed in Rajanpur
DERA GHAZI KHAN: Fifteen brick kilns running without zigzag technology were demolished in an ongoing operation in Jampur tehsil of Rajanpur for smog control.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Rajanpur Shafqatullah Mushtaq, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Zulqarnain Saleem conducted an operation against kilns to reduce the increasing harmful effects of smog. Officers of the environment department were also present on the occasion.
The AC said kilns that do not use zigzag technology cannot be allowed to operate. Among the kilns that have been demolished are Aoun Bricks Tatarwala, Ali Bricks Tatarwala, Punjab Bricks Tatarwala, Nader Bricks Tatarwala, Rahmatullah Bricks Tatarwala, Rashid Babbar Bricks Tatarwala, Dajal Bricks Tatarwala, Jalal Khan Bricks Jampur, Ahmadani Bricks Allahabad, Riaz Ahmed Bricks Tatarwala, Tayyab Bricks Jampur, Ali Bricks Jampur, Abdul Majeed Bricks Jampur, Nawaz Dasti Bricks Muhammadpur and Latif Dasti Bricks Muhammadpur.
FIRING: One person was killed and three others injured in a firing incident in the limits of Kala police station on Thursday morning.
On receiving the information, Saddar DSP Hamad Nabi and Kala Police Station House Officer Tahir Saleem arrived at the scene with their team. According to eyewitnesses, the victims were traveling by a car to Dera Ghazi Khan when the assailants, riding a motorcycle, suddenly opened fire. Muhammad Shahbaz died at the scene and three others sustained injuries.
Police reports suggest that the reason for the incident was an old enmity.
DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Syed Ali has taken notice of the incident and sought a report.
34 booked: Shahwali police have registered a case against 34 individuals, including 26 nominated suspects, for allegedly attacking a police team.
The police team had raided the residence of facilitators of gangs to arrest them. However, the suspects opened fire on the officials and managed to flee under the cover of darkness. During the raid, police recovered a cache of weapons from the residence and launched a search operation to arrest the attackers.
Rajanpur police reported that the raid was successful, claiming a large consignment of arms was seized from the hideout. The recovered weapons include an M-16, G-3, double-barrel gun, 303 rifle, MM-9 pistol, 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition and cash.
DPO Dost Mohammad stated that a search operation is underway to arrest the suspects and assured that arrests will be made soon. He also claimed that the Rajanpur police have effectively restricted the movement of criminals in the area.
