An evening with French pianist

LAHORE: The Alliance Française de Lahore and the French Honorary Consulate in Lahore, in collaboration with the Lahore Arts Council, and the French Embassy, with the support of the Lahore Jazz Club and Radio FM 91 as the official radio media partner, presented a captivating piano recital by the world-renowned pianist, Maxime Zecchini, at Alhamra Art Center, on Thursday.

The evening commenced with a welcome address by Habib Anwar Sheikh, the honorary consul of France in Lahore.

Renowned for his passionate performances, Zecchini graced prestigious venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall in New York. He plays a wide variety of classical and modern pieces. His unique style has been well-received by critics.

Habib Anwar said it was a privilege to have Zecchini in the event to celebrate the universal language of art and culture.

“Tonight, we are gathered here to witness a performance by one of France’s best pianists, Maxime Zecchini, and to share a moment that transcends borders, languages, and differences.”

Mr Anwar termed the concert a testament to the power of cultural exchange and dialogue and a time when the world faced numerous challenges, the arts was a reminder of shared humanity and our collective capacity for beauty and creation.

“Tonight, Maxime Zecchini graces the stage for the second time in Lahore, a city with a rich history and vibrant cultural heritage. His mastery of piano, especially the rare left-hand repertoire, is a unique artistic achievement that we are privileged to experience in person.”

Mr Anwar said the concert would not have been possible without the collaboration and support of many dedicated individuals and institutions, including the Embassy of France, Alliance Française de Lahore and Alhamra Arts Council.

“We are also grateful to the Lahore Jazz Club and Radio City FM 91 for their enthusiastic partnership in bringing tonight’s program to life,” he added.

Before Maxime Zecchini, Akmal brothers performed as the opening act of the evening.
