Mass suspensions in revenue office

SARGODHA: Up to 17 patwaris, three girdawars and three registration clerks were suspended from service during a surprise visit by Commissioner Malik Jahanzeb Awan on Friday.

Those absent from duty, including tehsildars and naib tehsildars, have been issued show-cause notices for disciplinary action.

The suspended officials include Riaz Ahmed, Sher Ali, Haider, Sajid, Saqlain Shah, Jawad Hasan and Muhammad Hassan, among others.

Registry clerks Moazzam Jamshed, Asghar Shah, and Ehsan Shah were also suspended from service, while naib qasid Muhammad Arif was dismissed for providing false information.

The commissioner reprimanded staff for tardiness and urged strict adherence to office hours to ensure public convenience. He warned of future unannounced inspections to curb absenteeism.

BHU CONSTRUCTION: Construction and repair work costing Rs193.7 million is in progress at the Gul Da Kot Basic Health Unit (BHU).

The project includes building repairs, five staff quarters, boundary walls, and a new toilet block.

Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz said health services have been temporarily shifted to a nearby private building. He added that minor adjustments to the construction plan, based on residents’ needs, have been submitted for approval.

Mr Nawaz said that the absence of a boundary wall has allowed stray animals to enter the hospital premises.

Staff at the temporary facility is providing healthcare services without disruption.

INJURED: Five people, including three female students, were seriously injured in a collision involving two motorcycles and a van.

The accident victims, identified as Muhammad Monis of Fazil Town, Sabah Bibi of Bajwa Colony, Amina Bibi, Noor Fatima and another unidentified person, were rescued and shifted to the hospital.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
