28 Years Later, a filming update revealed
Ralph Fiennes has shared news about the sequel to 28 Days Later, titled 28 Years Later, during an interview with IndieWire. He confirmed that both 28 Years Later and its follow-up have already been filmed. The sequel will follow a young boy searching for a doctor to help his dying mother nearly three decades after the original plague. The boy navigates dangerous terrain, eventually finding a doctor who appears unusual but is ultimately a force for good.
In addition to Fiennes, the cast includes Jodie Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. 28 Years Later is scheduled for release in theatres on June 30, 2025.
Cage as Spider-Man Noir, a darker origin story
Nicolas Cage will portray Spider-Man Noir , the fan favourite 1930s’ inspired hero from Earth 90214, in an upcoming live-action series, presenting a very different origin story from the classic Spider-Man.
Set in 1930s’ New York during the Great Depression, this version of Peter Parker faces a grim reality. After Uncle Ben is murdered by The Goblin (Norman Osborne), Peter seeks justice.
A mystical spider bite grants him enhanced abilities, leading him to create a costume inspired by Uncle Ben’s airman uniform. With a darker tone and themes of loss and corruption, Spider-Man Noir promises an exciting take on the beloved character.
Alaskan town saw its final sunset of 2024
America’s northernmost town, Utqiagvik (formerly Barrow), Alaska, experienced its final sunset on November 19. The residents will not see the sun again until January 23, 2025 — that’s 65 straight days, or 1,560 hours, of darkness!
This is due to its location, just 1,300 miles (2,092 km) south of the North Pole. But the residents will still have some light during the day, known as “civil twilight,” similar to the light seen at sunrise before the sun fully emerges. During summer, they enjoy the “midnight sun,” when the sun remains visible both day and night. For Utqiagvik, this will mean no sunset for 82 consecutive days, from May 12, 2025, to July 31, 2025!
