RAWALPINDI: More than 50 people fell prey to burglars and robbers who deprived them of a significant amount of money, gold jewellery and cell phone in Rawalpindi district, police said.

Of the 50 incidents of street-crime, 10 people were deprived of their motorcycles and three cars were stolen from different parts of the city.

However, the police have been unable to trace any of the stolen vehicles or arrest the culprits.

All the cases were registered with the police on Monday.

Tanveer Rafiq, a resident of Hazara Colony lodged an FIR with the Pirwadhai police saying that some burglars broke into his house and stole jewellary worth Rs350,000 and Rs1.9 million cash in the absence of his family.

Abdullah Saeed, a bykia rider, was deprived of his motorcycle, mobile phone and Rs20,000 by two passengers in the limit of Waris Khan police.

Taimoor Tahir was robbed of Rs30,000 cash and a mobile phone by two robbers in the Banni police area.

Nawaz Idris, a local trader, lodged an FIR with the Cantt police saying that 12 mobile phones worth Rs6 million were stolen from his shop in Singapore plaza.

Mohammad Asif, a resident of Gulraiz I, was deprived of gold jewellery worth Rs1.1 million and other valuables worth Rs750,000 in the absence of his family.

Ahsanullah lodged an FIR with the Sadar Bairooni police saying that some burglars broke into his house and stole gold ring worth Rs7,000 and Rs110,000 cash.

Kamran Bashir, a resident of Rawat lodged an FIR with the police saying that some burglars entered his house in the absence of his family and took away Rs4 million and gold jewellery worth Rs150,000.

Mohammad Naseer Khan, a resident of Naseerabad, complained to the police that some unidentified burglars broke into his brother’s house in the absence of his family and stole Rs 700,000 cash, gold jewellery.

Waheed Ahmad complained to Kalar Syedan police that some unidentified thieves stole away Rs50,000 from his shop after breaking the locks.

Fawad Hussain’s car was stolen from outside his house in Ratta Amral area, while Naveed Tariq’s car was lifted from Commercial Market Satellite Town.

Awais Ijaz Raja’s car was picked up from outside his house in Dhamial.

Bilal Tariq, Tahir Mehtab, Sujahat Hussain’s motorcycle was snatched at gunpoint by two unidentified robbers in Sadiqabad, Abu Bakar Saddique’s motorcycle and mibile phone were snatched by three robbers at gunpoint in Naseerabad.
