Man accused of torturing father
MUZAFFARGARH: On International Day of Disabled Persons on Tuesday, a man of Alipur reportedly tortured his physically-challenged father in Lathi village in the jurisdiction of the Seitpur police.
Muhammad Ismail, a Hafiz-i-Quran and the victim, alleged that his son, Khalil, subjected him to severe physical abuse. Ismail claimed his son beat him with shoes and fists before tying him up and locking him in a room. The dispute, he said, stemmed from Khalil’s desire to seize his property.
Seeking justice, Ismail arrived at the local press club to appeal to the chief minister of Punjab and the district police officer of Muzaffargarh for intervention. The police said they were looking into the matter.
