Conference on AI-driven teaching methods
LAHORE: The University of Education (UE) on Tuesday kicked off its 11th two-day international conference focusing on innovating education for a sustainable future through artificial intelligence-driven (AI-driven) pedagogical methods.
The event aimed to explore the transformative role of AI in teacher education.
Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Director General Waqar Naeem Qureshi inaugurated the conference which was chaired by UE Vice Chancellor Prof Aqif Anwar Chaudhry. The gathering has attracted participants from eight countries and over 400 attendees, fostering a global dialogue on integrating AI into educational practices.
Over the two days, the event will feature 30 research papers presented in poster sessions, with 13 keynote speakers (eight in-person and five virtual) representing prestigious academic institutions such as LUMS, Nust, Iqra University and international participants from Australia, the UK, Oman, the UAE, Canada and China.
Prof Chaudhry emphasized the importance of AI integration in education, describing it as essential for creating a sustainable future.
He highlighted the conference’s unique opportunity for educators, researchers, and policymakers to exchange ideas and advance the quality of teacher education.
UE Director of the Division of Education, Prof Ayaz Muhammad Khan, echoed these sentiments, stating that the initiative reflects a commitment to innovation in teacher training. As Pakistan’s pioneering institution in teacher education, UE is at the forefront of integrating AI to enhance learning outcomes and prepare educators for the dynamic challenges of the 21st century.
Prof Khan noted that the conference would offer valuable insights, spark critical discussions, and pave the way for future collaborations to revolutionize educational practices worldwide.
PU: Punjab University opened a two-day 9th international conference on ‘Banking, Insurance and Risk Management’ organised by PU Hailey College of Banking and Finance (HCBF).
HCBF Principal Prof Ahmed Muneeb Mehta, Chief Executive Officer of Habib Insurance Company Syed Athar Abbas, researchers from Turkiye, Poland, Malaysia and various universities of the country, representatives from banking, insurance, business industry, faculty members and a large number of students were present.
Speakers said every graduate should be familiar with artificial intelligence and data will be the most important source of development in the future.Up to 200 papers were received for the conference and artificial intelligence is playing an important role in business innovation. The conference will continue till Wednesday.
