Balochistan CM vows transparency in PSDP projects
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday stressed the urgent need to eliminate past malpractices and ensure that Public Sector Development Programme resources are used to meet public needs.
Addressing a meeting to review the progress of development projects, the chief minister asserted that no scheme based on commissions or personal interests would be included in the PSDP and reiterated his government’s commitment to transparency.
The session was also attended by Balochistan Planning Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, government spokesperson Shahid Rind, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Additional Chief Secretary for Development and Planning Hafiz Abdul Basit and Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon.
During a briefing on the allocation and utilisation of resources for development projects, CM Bugti expressed dissatisfaction over delays in education and health initiatives.
He directed officials to expedite these projects and called for the formulation of a five-year development strategy for Washuk district. He stressed the importance of transparency and responsiveness to public needs in the PSDP, directing officials to rectify past shortcomings.
