Teenage boy killed in celebratory firing at wedding

MIRPURKHAS: A teenage boy died after a stray bullet hit him during celebratory firing at a marriage ceremony in a locality in Kot Ghulam Mohammad town on Wednesday.

Participants in the wedding told reporters that an unknown man resorted to aerial firing with a rifle. Mysteriously a bullet hit 13-year-old Rajesh Bheel and he died on the spot within minutes, they said.

The incident created fear and panic among the guests and they hurried out of the area. Police brought the body to mortuary of Kot Ghulam Mohammad taluka hospital for completion of medico-legal formalities, they said.

Teerath Bheel, father of the victim, accused one of the guests of having killed his son with his rifle. Later, the body was handed over to heirs for burial.

Police detained several suspects for interrogation though no case had been lodged at the police station concerned.
