Delegation of young parliamentarians visits PA
PESHAWAR: A delegation of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) of the National Assembly visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly here on Monday.
A statement issued here said that KP Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati welcomed the delegation led by Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, president of YPF.
Ms Nosheen expressed her gratitude to Mr Swati for his cordial reception.
During the meeting, Ms Nosheen and Mr Swati discussed the role of young parliamentarians in addressing the challenges facing the country. She emphasised that young parliamentarians played a pivotal role in addressing youth welfare and resolving the issues they faced.
The discussion also touched upon establishing a YPF within the KP Assembly.
Ms Nosheen stated that the forum aimed to empower young parliamentarians, enabling them to address social and legislative issues effectively.
She reiterated that the YPF provided a vital platform for addressing youth issues across the country. Furthermore, she announced plans to establish YPF in all provinces by February, followed by a national-level seminar after their establishment.
Babar Swati highlighted that the provincial assembly was the first provincial assembly in the country to pass the Employees Act. He credited this achievement to the assistance provided by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and special secretary Syed Shamoon Hashmi.
The YPF members also visited the KP Assembly Hall, where they were briefed about its history and background.
On this occasion, the provincial assembly staff informed the members of YPF delegation about the Information Technology project, which has made the legislature the first paperless assembly of the country.
