Mercury drops to 11°C as cold wave grips Karachi

KARACHI: The minimum temperature dropped to 11 degrees Celsius on early Monday morning as a cold wave gripped the metropolis.

According to a Met department’s advisory, the cold wave is likely to prevail across the province this week with night temperature dropping to 7-9°C in upper Sindh.

It said that the temperatures during night-time will drop to 9-11°C in central Sindh, while 10-12°C in southern Sindh.

In Karachi, the maximum temperature recorded was 28.4°C on Monday.

Relative humidity was 14 per cent in the evening.

The Met Office has forecast dry weather with cool night with minimum temperature ranging between 11°C and 12°C in Karachi over the next two days.

The maximum temperature is expected to range between 26-28°C.
