Solicitor office abolished

LAHORE: The Punjab government has abolished the office of the solicitor to the government – an attached department of the law and parliamentary affairs department.

The decision to abolish the solicitor department was taken in the provincial cabinet meeting on July 9 this year.

An order issued by the law and parliamentary affairs department says all properties, duties, assignments, responsibilities, obligations and interests of whatever kind used, enjoyed, performed, possessed, owned, assigned or vested in the office of the solicitor to the Punjab government and all liabilities legally subsisting against it stand transferred to the directorate of monitoring and evaluation.
