Price of BRT card increased by Rs100
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Urban Mobility Authority (KPUMA) has announced an increase of Rs100 in the price of Zu Card for Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.
The spokesperson for KPUMA said here on Sunday that the price was increased due to current surge in paper and printing expenditure. The new card is now available at Rs400 after an increase of Rs100.
It is worth mentioning here that the provincial government provided a substantial annual subsidy of Rs4 billion to BRT. However, the fare for individual rides was increased by Rs10 a few months ago.
Despite facing financial challenges, BRT continues to serve more than 400,000 passengers daily. Published in Dawn, December 23rd, 2024
