Governor notifies committees to promote harmony among political parties
PESHAWAR: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday notified formation of political and technical committees for restoration of peace in line with the unanimous decision made at a multi-party conference few weeks ago.
The committees will promote harmony among political parties and address key issues in the province. A notification, signed by Governor Kundi, reveals the establishment of an 11-member political committee and a 12-member technical committee for the purpose.
The political committee, chaired by the governor, include Federal Minister Engineer Amir Maqam of PML-N, Sikandar Hayat Sherpao of QWP, Maulana Attaur Rehman of JUI-F, Mian Iftikhar Hussain of ANP, Syed Mohammad Ali Shah Bacha of PPP, Mohsin Dawar of National Democratic Movement, Prof Ibrahim Khan of Jamaat-i-Islami, Mahmood Khan of PTI-Parliamentarian, former chief minister Pervez Khattak and Shaukatullah Khan, a representative of merged districts, as its members.
The committee will work for enhancing cooperation among political parties. It will make recommendations to reach a consensus on significant matters, fostering a unified political environment in the province.
Additionally, a 12-member technical committee has been established. It will oversee developmental projects and provide technical suggestions to the government.
The members of this committee include Dr Ibadullah of PML-N, Maulana Lutfur Rehman of JUI-F, Ahmed Karim Kundi of PPP, Inayatullah Khan of Jamaat-i-Islami, Akhundzada Sikandar Zaman of QWP, Sangeen Khan of ANP, Kifayatullah Khan of National Democratic Movement, Malik Habib Noor Orakzai of PTI-Parliamentarian and Ghazan Jamal and Akhundzada Chattaan as representatives of merged districts besides two experts namely Hamaayatullah Khan and Musharaf Rasool.
The technical committee will focus on advising government on developmental issues and promoting cooperation among different parties on key technical matters.
The committees are part of efforts to foster coordination and mutual understanding, ensuring progress and harmony in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
