LARKANA: Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto today [Jan 7] expressed the hope that Oil Producing and Exporting Countries would help other countries of the Third World generously to get a more fair deal from the world order for the export of their commodities. The Prime Minister was addressing a 42-member team of the Third World Forum delegates … led by Mr Gamani Corea, chairman of the Third World Forum, who is also Secretary General of UNCTAD. … [PM] Bhutto said that Pakistan fully supported the actions of other nations of the Third World to obtain a better return for their oil exports. The Third World … should be happy that at least one part of it was able to obtain better justice from international trade.

[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from Beirut,] the Chief of the Palestine Liberation Organisation, Mr Yasser Arafat, has warned both Israel and America that the invasion of the Arab States, or the use of nuclear weapons, as threatened by the Jewish State, will plunge the world in an economic disaster. The warning came as President Hafez Al-Assad of Syria arrived in Lebanon for talks with Lebanese leaders.
