SUKKUR: PPP assails ‘fabricated’ cases against Benazir
SUKKUR, April 23: The government fabricated several cases against Benazir Bhutto, but failed to furnish any proof against her, said the president of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, Sindh chapter, Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
Had the money spent on fabricating cases against Benazir Bhutto been used for the provincial uplift, Sindh would have been more developed, said Mr Shah while speaking at a press conference at the residence of Mir Farooq Jakhrani in Jacobabad on Saturday.
He said that six months ago when the party announced return of Ms Bhutto, the government become confused and took up the Swiss case.
Mr Shah said the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) leadership was asking Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan and lead their parties and added that they would return soon. About privatisation of the Steel Mills, he said Mr Bhutto had established it, but the government had sold it for only Rs21 billions that did not cover the price of even its plot.
