TAXILA: The Attock district administration on Saturday carried out over 645 surprise checks across the district and confiscated 1,582 kilograms of polyethene and non-woven polypropylene plastic bags measuring less than 75 microns.

According to officials, the participants of the plastic management committee were informed that notices were issued to 408 shopkeepers while two shops were sealed.

The Punjab government has imposed a ban on the use of plastic shopping bags measuring less than 75 microns since June last year.
