Burglaries in Gujranwala
GUJRANWALA, April 25: Dacoits looted houses of a Pakistani working overseas and a homoeopath, and drove away with two motorcycles in four strikes in and around the city here on Tuesday.
Reports said five outlaws forced their entry into the house of expatriate Azmat Kharl in Jinnah Colony, Wazirabad by scaling the boundary wall. They made off with cash, jewellery and mobile phones after holding hostage the inmates in a room. Four bandits stormed into the house of homoeopath Muhammad Yaqoob on Ghorey Shah Road.
They held hostage the inmates and took away Rs650,000, 12-tola jewellery, mobile phones and other valuables.
In another incident, robbers deprived trader Muhammad Boota and cinema gate-keeper Waqas Ahmad of their motorcycles when they were on their way home from market.
As many as 26 people took away wheat crop of farmer Muhammad Ahmad Ghaffar here on Tuesday at Nawab Chowk.
Aroop police have registered a case and are investigating.
