Police arrest three suspects in JUI-F leader’s murder case

TAXILA: Attock police Tuesday claimed they have resolved the blind murder case of a Jamiat Ullema-i-Islam-Fazal leader and arrested three suspects.

JUI-F leader Qari Nizamuddin was gunned down within the limits of Attock City police station in the late hours of Friday.

Qari Nizamuddin was the city deputy emeer of JUI-F.

District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Ghias Gul Khan along with the local leaders of JUI-F and investigation staff revealed at a press conference that the slain local leader’s murder suspects were arrested.

The DPO said that the police had registered a murder case against unknown assailants.

Responding to a question, he ruled out sectarian reasons behind the killing and said the murder was carried out over “personal enmity”.

He said that the interrogation is underway to ascertain the motive behind the cold-blooded murder.

Sources privy to the investigation said on the condition of anonymity that the son of the late JUI-F leader was behind his father’s murder as the deceased reportedly prohibited him from his “activities”.
