New KWSC chief takes over

KARACHI: Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, a grade-19 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Services, on Tuesday assumed his responsibilities as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC).

Mr Siddiqui has replaced Engineer Salahuddin Ahmed, who had resigned on March 3 and the KWSC board had accepted the resignation.

According to a notification, on the recommendation of the provincial government, Mr Siddiqui has been appointed as the managing director/CEO of the water utility until a regular officer is appointed through a competitive process in accordance with Section 11 of the KWSC Act, 2023.

Meanwhile, the new CEO told KWSC officials that ensuring an efficient water supply and sewerage system was his top priority.

He promised effective measures would be implemented to enhance water and sewerage services across the city, aiming to provide better facilities to the city’s residents.
