CJP reviews SC reforms, emphasises digitisation

ISLAMABAD: Chief Ju­­s­­­­tice of Pakistan (CJP) Ya­­hya Afridi on Tuesday cha­­ired an interactive session with heads of various Su­­p­reme Court sections to imp­rove service delivery and expand access to justice.

The session was atten­ded by Supreme Court Re­­gistrar Muhammad Salim Khan, development exp­e­­rt Sher Shah, Federal Ju­­dicial Academy Director General Hayat Ali Shah, and Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP) Secretary Syeda Tanzeela Sabahat.

During the session, the CJP reviewed the ongoing reforms, emphasising the digitisation of court processes, enhanced accessibility, streamlined procedures, accountability and increased transparency in judicial operations.

Justice Afridi noted that the reforms aim not only to reduce case pendency but also to ensure that litigants receive timely and effective justice. He stressed that litigants deserve the utmost respect, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to justice and its positive public image.

In ­addition, the Supre­­me Court’s IT Directorate presented progress upda­tes on integrating digital technologies and establi­shing mechanisms desig­ned to further enhance the accessibility and tra­­­ns­­parency of the judicial process.
