Welcome

ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday decided to extend the gas supply to urea manufacturing plants for three months, up to June this year, ensuring continued availability of fertiliser to farmers.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The meeting expressed satisfaction with the stock position and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining stability in the market.

Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain told the meeting that his ministry remains vigilant and at the forefront of efforts to ensure uninterrupted urea supply to farmers across the country.

He said the ministry is dedicated to securing Pakistan’s agricultural needs and will continue to work proactively with all stakeholders to prevent any disruptions in urea supply and stabilise the market for farmers.

Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, National Food Security Secretary Waseem Ajmal Chaudhry and senior officials from the relevant ministries attended the meeting.
