DERA GHAZI KHAN: Two police officials were martyred in an encounter with robbers near Darya Deen Panah Bridge in Taunsa Sharif tehsil on Tuesday.

Taunsa police said ASI Ghulam Shabbir and Constable Ghulam Farid embraced martyrdom while confronting the armed criminals.

The police received information about the presence of robbers in the Darya Shah Bridge area, prompting ASI Ghulam Shabbir and his team to immediately reach the spot.

Upon arrival, the robbers opened fire on the police party. During the exchange of fire, ASI Shabbir and Constable Farid sacrificed their lives.

As soon as the incident was reported, Dera Ghazi Khan DPO Syed Ali, the SDPO Taunsa, station house officer along with their respective police teams rushed to the scene.

The area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched to arrest the suspects.

ELECTROCUTED: A security guard was electrocuted at the main gate of divisional public school in Dera Ghazi Khan.

According to initial reports, the victim was electrocuted after coming into contact with a live wire, possibly from faulty wiring or exposed electrical connections.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but guard Imitiaz was pronounced dead before receiving medical aid. Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.

Meanwhile, residents have raised concerns over electrical safety measures at divisional public school for safety of children, teaching staff and guards/peons demanding strict inspections to prevent such tragedies in the future.
