Hundreds of thousands of people on Saturday, including clergy members, world leaders and faithful, gathered in the Vatican and Rome to mourn the passing of Pope Francis.

Following a funeral ceremony at St Peter’s Basilica, the coffin was transported to its final resting place in Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica in Rome.
