SUKKUR: People being exploited since 1947: PPP
SUKKUR, Feb 6: The Pakistan Peoples Party is striving for real democracy in the country, in which the aspirations and hopes of people are fulfilled.
Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah said this the other day while speaking at a meeting where former provincial minister Mir Manzoor Khan Panhwer along with hundreds of his friends joined the PPP.
He said that the existence of federation and solidarity of Pakistan was linked with the PPP, and if unnatural methods were adopted to knock out PPP or to remove it from the political scene, it would endanger integrity of the country.
He said that ever since 1947 the people were being exploited, and it was the PPP and its founder Shaheed Bhutto, who created awareness and will among the people for their rights.
The politicians were not responsible for the political suffocation in the country, and if the real power had been remained in the hands of the people, there would not have been poverty and unemployment in the country, he observed.
Speaking at the meeting, Aftab Shaban Mirani said that the PPP provided jobs to the educated youth, while both the Shareef and Musharraf governments had created unemployment.
The PPP was a party of the masses, and it had strong roots in the four provinces, he said.
Sindh PPP President Nisar Khuro said that PPP always pursued politics of principles.
He said those who had quit the party had lost popular support.
He appealed to the people to join together for restoration of their basic rights and democracy.
