Boxing team for Tehran announced

KARACHI, Feb 6: A 10-member Pakistan boxing squad for participation in the Fajr International boxing tournament, in Iran, was named Wednesday.

The Pakistan team will leave from Quetta Friday.

The team comprising seven pugilists and three officials.

According to President Pakistan Amateur Boxing Federation (PABF) Prof. Anwer Choudhary the squad included two Olympians, one Commonwealth silver medalist, one Asian Games silver medalist and two internationals and one national boxer.

THE SQUAD:

Light Flyweight Dilawar Hussain (Sindh)

Flyweight: Abdul Majid (Balochistan)

Bantamweight: Meharullah (KPT)

Featherweight: Haider Ali (WAPDA)

Lightweight: Asghar Ali Shah (KPT)

Middleweight: Ahmed Ali Khan (Army)

Super Heavyweight: Muzaffar Hussain (WAPDA).

Officials: Habibullah Jaffry (Manager); Reinaldo Alvarez (Chief coach) Muhammad Yaqoob (Assistant coach).—APP
