HYDERABAD: Tribute paid to Dr Panhwar

HYDERABAD, May 31: Rich tribute was paid to the late Dr Khan Mohammad Panhwar, founder of the mass communication department, University of Sindh, for his educational services at a meeting held to mark his 7th death anniversary held at the Hyderabad press club.

The meeting was organised by the Dr Khan Mohammad Panhwar Trust in collaboration with the Hyderabad Press Club and Sindh Goth Sudhar Sangat here on Sunday night.

In his presidential speech, vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui lauded the services of Dr Panhwar for education and to the people of remote areas of the province.

Speaking on the occasion, former vice-chancellor of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Dr S.M.Qureshi said that all his life, late Dr Panhwar had worked for the uplift of the rural population.

Dr Panhwar had also worked for the rehabilitation of Manchhar Lake and organized a seminar to invite the attention of experts to find out ways and means for rehabilitating the lake.
