QUETA, July 3: Gwadar was rocked by a powerful explosion late on Monday night. Police sources said that the explosive device had been planted in the building of the Gwadar Development Authority. They said it was a home-made device carrying a timer. One of the building’s guards had informed the police about its presence, they said. It went off before personnel of police and other law-enforcement agencies could reach the building, they said.

Governor of Balochistan Owais Ahmed Ghani is schduled to visit Gwadar on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a checkpost of security forces was attacked near Sibi. Officials said that at least 50 rockets had been fired at the post.

GAS PLANT: The main gas plant in Sui escaped a disaster after a rocket landed near its purification installations.

Official sources said that the tribesmen had fired three rockets, targeting the main gas purification plant.
