PESHAWAR: Centre trying to destabilise provincial govt: Siraj
PESHAWAR, July 13: NWFP Senior Minister Sirajul Haq on Thursday criticised the centre for impeding the smooth functioning of the MMA government in the province.
He said that the centre had gone to the extent of hatching conspiracies to topple the provincial government.
He said that the province had been denied its genuine rights, adding that it had been obstructed from using its constitutional right to legislate for the enforcement of Shariah.
He alleged that the efforts had been made to buy loyalty of “our assembly members by offering them huge sums of money”.
The senior minister said that a one-sided propaganda campaign had been launched on the official media while innocent tribesmen were being killed and arrested in the name of operation against foreign terrorists.
He claimed that the provincial government had repeatedly called upon the federal government not to act against the tribesmen in Fata region.
The senior minister said that the MMA government had steps for eradicating crimes and social evils, ensured peace and financial discipline in the province and created a “congenial atmosphere for promotion of investment and tourism”.– Online
