HYDERABAD: Students of private schools excel in SSC exam

HYDERABAD, July 25: As always, the students of the Cadet College Petaro and private education institutions have won almost all laurels and honours in the SSC part-II (science group) annual examinations 2006.

The result of the examination was announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Hyderabad on Tuesday.

Among boys, out of ten top positions, eight have been won by the Petaro college and two by the St. Bonaventure High School.

Among girls, out of ten top positions, all the top three positions have gone to the Falcon House Grammars High School, three to the Ideal Public High School Sehwan and two to the St. Mary’s Girls High School.

Among boy students, Mohammad Yousuf, son of Ali Mohammad, of the Government (P) High School Sakrand secured the first position by obtaining 799 marks.

Anees Raza, son of Mohammad Iqbal, and Nasar Ali, son of Mohammad Usman, of the Cadet College Petaro bagged second and third positions by obtaining 788 and 785 marks, respectively.

Among girl students, Tooba Shah, daughter of Azharul Haq, Hira Vakassi, daughter of Capt. (Dr) Mukhtar Ahmed Vakassi, and Hiba Jawaid, daughter of Jawaid Mumtaz Ali, all of the Falcon House Grammar High School Hyderabad secured first, second and third positions by obtaining 795, 791 and 790 marks, respectively.

A total number of 39,212 candidates, including 14,171 girl candidates, appeared in the examination out of which 32,869 candidates including 12,123 girl candidates passed the examination. Results of 210 students, including 70 girls, have been withheld by the board for various reasons.
