SWABI: Swabi road project to start soon
SWABI, Aug 9: The construction of the 24km Yarhussian-Adina Road will cost Rs350 million and tenders for the purpose will be invited soon, it is learnt on Wednesday.
The road links various far-flung regions of Chota Lahor Tehsil to the Tehsil and district headquarters.
The people of the area have been demanding construction of a metalled road for the last three years. The dilapidated condition of the road forces them to take a long route to the district headquarters.
Meanwhile, the construction of additional buildings has started on the premises of the district veterinary hospital. It is estimated to cost Rs8 million.
Sources said that tenders for a new hospital project had been issued earlier according to which the building had to be constructed in Murghuz, but officials in the Swabi hospital approached higher authorities and convinced them on expanding the existing hospital.
Upon completion of the work, the agriculture officer, soil conservation officer, livestock officer, etc., all will be sitting in one building, making it easy for farmers to obtain required information.
The building is expected to be completed by next June.
