NAWABSHAH: Police submit interim charge-sheet: Brohi case

NAWABSHAH, Aug 25: The investigation police on Friday submitted an interim charge-sheet in the Rasool Bux Brohi encounter case in the court of Sakrand judicial magistrate, Sohail Akhtar Mangi.

Accused, DSP Irfan Bhandar and Inspector Safdar Shah of the LTF, were also produced in the court without handcuffs.

The court took serious notice of the accused having been produced without handcuffs, after which they were handcuffed.

Investigation officer Mohammad Mubeen told the court that the weapon which was shown recovered from Rasool Bux Brohi by the Lyari Task Force had been included also in another FIR relating to narcotics.

He said that a letter had been written to the IG Sindh to lodge an FIR against Inspector Sarwar Cammando of the Gadap police in this regard.

He said that Nazar alias Nazroo Khaskheli was a police informer who told the Lyari Task Force that Rasool Bux was bandit Mashooq Brohi and his name was included in interim challan.

The investigation officer submitted interim challan of case mentioning co-accused including 48 police officials.

SP South Karachi Raja Pervez told the court that former SP Chaudhry Aslam was admitted to the Anklesaria hospital from August 16 to 22 and he was shifted to the Karachi central jail from the hospital.

The court asked the SP about the written proof of shifting of accused Chaudhry Aslam to the central jail Karachi which he failed to submit.

Later, he gave in writing that he was shifted to the jail.

The administration of the Anklesaria hospital, including owner Zurksush, MS Dr Maqbool Aziz and Dr Jakshed, apologised to the court for not attending the last hearing.

The MS presented admission card and medical treatment file of Chaudhry Aslam in the court.

The court received an application of Ghulam Brohi, uncle of the deceased Rasool Bux, mentioning that whenever they come to court, a car without number plate having unidentified people chased them. He said that they feared that police might implicate them in a fake case.

The case was adjourned till Sept 7, and the next hearing would be held in Nawabshah.
