SWABI: 321 students enrolled in GIK Institute
SWABI, Aug 26: Three-hundred and twenty-one students were admitted in four-year undergraduate programme of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology on Saturday.
Admissions were granted purely on merit without regional or discretionary quotas.
The admission tests were held at Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta on July 4.
The students were admitted to faculties of computer science and engineering, electronic engineering, engineering sciences, mechanical engineering and metallurgy and materials engineering.
Former Federal Minister Anwar Saifullah was chief.
Addressing on the occasion Mr Saifullah said that quality education is most urgent need of the country and for a genuine progress and economic stability we must give top priority to modern education and research.
He told the newly admitted students that you are future of the country and you have to work hard for achieving your objectives. “There is a great demand for GIKI graduates in the job market.—Correspondent
