LARKANA: Protest against Bugti’s killing

LARKANA, Aug 27: Protesting against the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti, activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz held demonstrations in Qambar and Shahdakdot on Sunday.

Dr Niaz Kalani, the central leader of JSQM, led the protest in Shahdadkot.

The protest procession culminated at the Koto-Moto chowk where activists observed a hunger strike.

JSQM workers in Qambar took out a procession.

They held a sit-in at the Martyrs’ Square and demonstrated outside the press club.

They raised slogans against the government for killing Nawab Akbar Bught in army operation.

Sindh Taraqi Passand Party Shahdadkot president called for a strike in Qambar-Shahdadkot district on Monday.

He announced this at a press conference in Shahdadkot on Sunday.

The senior vice-president of the Jhamori Watan Party, Larkana district, Mohamemed Hanif, announced observing strike in the Larkana district in protest against the tragedy.

The trade union federation also supported the call.

SUKKUR: A complete strike was observed in Salehpat, Nara canal RD-186, Gakhar Pattan, Himmath Shah and Januji areas in protest against the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Hundreds of enraged villagers blocked the Choondko-Salehpat road for two hours and pelted vehicles with stones.

They shouted slogans against the government which according to them has killed a patriot Pakistani.

Police rushed to the scene and negotiated with the villagers after which the blockade was ended.

All the main bazaars and shopping areas remained closed till the filing of this report.

NAWABSHAH: Security arrangement were beefed up throughout the district on Sunday after the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Police patrolling was intensified in all parts of district and deployment was also made at sensitive places.

Taluka Police Officer Nawabshah, Syed Riaz Shah told reporters that police pickets were set-up on the routes towards villages of Saleem Akbar Bugti and Mari tribesmen. Law enforcement agencies including Rangers were also in coordination with district administration.

MPA Ghulam Qadir Chandio said that it was a tragedy for the people of Pakistan. He said that army dictatorship had killed another political leader after Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

He said that the struggle of Akbar Bugti for the rights of Balochs would always be remembered.

DADU: Over 200 activists of JSQM took out a procession here on Sunday to protest against killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti. They were led by Mansoor Jamali, Haroon Bhurgari and Sarfaraz Korejo.
