RAWALPINDI, Aug 28: Five persons were killed and two others injured in separate incidents in the twin cities on Monday, police said. Mohammad Naseer and Abdul Waheed were going in a car (IDD- 8629) when a recklessly-driven dumper (RPT-5285) coming from the opposite direction smashed into the car on Chakri Road, killing them on the spot.

The dumper’s driver escaped from the scene.

A 10-year-old boy was killed after being run over by a tractor in the Saddar Barooni area.

Ahmed Saleem was crossing the road when the tractor (STG-3512) knocked him down.

Meanwhile, a man was killed while another injured after two unidentified persons attacked them in Jhanda Cheechi.

Gulfaraz lodged a complaint with the Civil Lines police that he along with Nisar Ahmed were going towards Adiala Road and passing through a graveyard when two unidentified persons opened fire on them and escaped in their car.

As a result, they sustained critical injuries and were shifted to the Rawalpindi General Hospital where Nisar died.

The police said the motive behind the murder was an old enmity.

Staff Reporter from Islamabad adds: A man was killed while his employer suffered bullet injuries when the latter’s rivals opened fire on them on Monday.

Police said Haji Mohammad Nawaz Khokhar, an arm and ammunition dealer, along with his servant was going to Dhoke Diptina in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police when they were fired upon by a group of armed persons.

As a result, Nadeem died on the spot while Khokhar suffered three bullets injuries.

The victims were shifted to Pims, where according to the medical report Nadeem received a bullet injury to his right chest and Khokhar suffered three bullets injuries to both the thighs and chest. Police said Khokhar had a property dispute with his relatives.

According to the police, Khokhar’s sons were involved in the killing of their relative eight months ago and the deceased’s brothers and their accomplices armed with pistols, kalashnikovs and batons attacked them to take revenge.

Medical Legal Officer Dr Waseem Khwaja told Dawn that the bullet injuries to Khokhar were not typical fire arm wounds and it looked like a plot.

He received three gun shoots; however, no bullets were found on the body and there was no exit wound either. He said he had not issued a medical legal report to the police as he was suspicious of the injuries and asked the police to investigate the matter.

Dr Khwaja was of view that failing to strike a compromise with the victim family, Mr Khokhar had staged a plot to implicate his relatives in a murder and attempted murder case.
