KHAIRPUR: Govt help urged for ailing sufi singer

KHAIRPUR, Oct 2: Sufi singer Fakir Qalandar Bux is seriously ill and his both kidneys have failed. But he is not getting proper medical treatment due to poverty.

He is in his Khaskheli village near Dargah Khush Khair Mohammad.

Fakir Qalandar Bux performed with Sohrab Fakir for many years in “Sung” and for eight years he had his own group in Sufiana Raag.

Besides radio and television, he also performed at shrines of Sachal Sarmast and Shah Latif.

Sufi singers including Fakir Ayaz Khokhar, Ghulam Hussain Fakir and others have appealed to the Sindh government to arrange medical treatment for Fakir Qalandar Bux.

ROBBERY: About five unidentified armed men barged into the house of Mohammad Hussain Jatt in Hamid Shah colony here on Monday morning.

The intruders held all family members hostage at gun point and robbed gold ornaments, cash and other valuables.

In another incident, three armed men entered into house of Javed Chandio in Pir-jo-Goth and rustled a buffalo.
