KHAIRPUR: Five motorway cops, seven others booked

KHAIRPUR, Oct 4: On the orders of the third additional sessions judge of Khairpur, 12 people, including five personnel of motorway police, were booked by the B-section police on the complaint of Gul Hassan Ghambir, a restaurant owner, under section 395, 337-Ai, 337-L2, 337-F1, 427, 506/2, 504, 147, 149 PPC.

Those nominated in the FIR included Tariq Pathan, Mumtaz Mahar, Tariq Abbasi, Javed Ansari, Roshan Ali of the motorway police and seven others unidentified people.

The complainant stated that on August 3, 2006, some people dressed in the motorway police uniform came at about 9pm to his restaurant on the National Highway near, the Waris Ghambir village and demanded free meal. They also demanded monthly payment of certain amount of money.

On his refusal, he said, they threw milk pans and broke cold drink bottles. He further stated in his FIR that they tortured him and took away Rs15,000 cash and a mobile phone.

ENCOUNTER: Eight armed men broke into the house of one Nawab Lodro in Peerano Lodro Village, Kingri taluka, and took away three buffalos on gunpoint and fled.

The armed men also injured Nawaz and his son Ayaz when they offered resistance.

The villagers informed the police about the incident after which police along with the villagers followed the footprints of the accused.

A brief encounter took place between the armed men and police near the Bhagwa village after which armed men left the buffalos and fled.

INJURED: Armed men have injured Sajjada Nasheen of Dargah Syed Hussain Shah Jilani, Abdul Qadir Shah.

Abdul Qadir and his brother Syed Ghous Ali Shah were on their way to Faiz Ganj in a car and when they reached near Bhirya City, armed men signalled them to stop.

When the driver did not stop the car, armed men opened fire as a result of which Sajjada Nasheen Abdul Qadir received bullet injuries.

The devotees of the Dargah staged a demonstration in Faiz Ganj and Pakka Chang on Friday to protest against the incident and demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
