HYDERABAD: Wheat sowing may be delayed

HYDERABAD, Oct 13: Sindh Abadgar Board president Abdul Majeed Nizamani has said that rainwater is still stagnating in many areas of Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Badin districts.

He said that it would be extremely difficult for farmers to sow wheat in these areas.

In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that due to unprecedented heavy rains people of both rural and urban areas suffered losses to the tune of billions of rupees.

He said that inefficiency of the irrigation department, outdated drainage system and wrong designing of LBOD, multiplied the problems of the farmers.
