MARDAN: Rs300m uplift projects
MARDAN, Oct 19: The Mardan District Development Committee (DDC) will spend Rs300 million on development projects under chief minister’s special package and the district development fund.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting here on Thursday. The meeting was presided over by District Coordination Officer (DCO) Javed Ahmed Khan while EDO finance, XEN public health engineering and other officials attended the meeting.
It approved 10 projects under the Sarhad development programme at a cost of Rs7.3 million. The projects were suggested by MPA Mian Nadir Shah.
Similarly, Rs6.5 million would be spent on 21 projects in the area of Lund Khwar which is the constituency of provincial minister Fazal Rabbani. Rs6.4 million would be spent on 42 small schemes in the constituency of provincial Irrigation Minister Hafiz Akhtar Ali.
The DDC also approved 36 schemes for various union councils on which Rs10 million would be spent.
It was learnt that 23 schemes presented by female councillors were also approved. These schemes would be completed at a cost of Rs1.15 million. The committee sanctioned Rs200,000 for repair of Tehsil Bar Room at Takhtbai while another Rs5 million were earmarked for rehabilitation of the affectees of recent floods in Mardan.
