SUKKUR: Marriage sparks tribal dispute
SUKKUR, Nov 5: A marriage between a Jatoi girl and a Heesbani man has sparked enmity between two strong biradaris, leading to incidents of firing in the katcha area of Kandiaro.
Ms Sanam Jatoi had fled her home in Hussain Heesbani village some three weeks ago to marry Riaz Heesbani.
The groom’s family under heavy pressure later handed her over to Naushahro Feroze DPO after some influential people of the area intervened in the dispute arising out of the marriage.
Some unknown people raided Riaz’s house and injured him seriously.
He was shifted to Karachi in a critical condition.
The Mehrabpur police had arrested the couple and produced them in the court of the second judicial magistrate of Kandiaro which ordered the police to provide security to the couple after Ms Sanam told the judge that she had married with Mr Riaz of her own free will and wanted to live with him.
The marriage has sparked enmity between Heesbanis and Jatois.
The two groups have took up positions against each other in trenches in the katcha area
and virtually turned the entire area into a no-go area.
