Congregation concludes in Multan
MULTAN, Nov 19: The three-day annual congregation of the Daawat-i-Islami concluded at the Sehra-i-Madina on Sher Shah Road on Sunday afternoon with prayers for forgiveness and salvation of the Muslims.
Hundreds of thousands of sobbing people joined the prayers seeking Allah Almighty’s forgiveness for their indulgence in mundane world and for national integrity.
Prayer leader Maulana Illyas Qadri called upon the Muslims to purge themselves of mundane pursuits and follow the golden precepts of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Be humble for humility is a great virtue, be kind to fellow human beings, especially your relatives and neighbours, and lead a simple life,” was his message to the participants.
During the three days, several religious scholars delivered sermons. A large number of people kept coming from Multan and adjoining areas before the morning prayers to attend the grand prayer which marked the end of the congregation.
TRAFFIC MESS: A traffic snarl-up was witnessed at the venue as people left the congregation place for their homes by private vehicles or public transport.
Special trains were run from Multan to other stations to facilitate a large number of people.
