PM pledges more funds for Attock

ISLAMABAD Dec 3: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Sunday said the government would allocate additional funds for the provision of electricity, roads, gas, clean drinking water, and better education and health facilities to the residents of Attock.

Funds would also be provided for establishing a modern and well-equipped trauma centre in Attock, he said, while talking to Attock District Nazim Maj (retired) Tahir Sadiq, who called on him at the Prime Minister’s House, an official handout said.

Mr Aziz, who has been elected from Attock, inquired about various ongoing development schemes in the Attock.

Meanwhile, the prime minister, in a meeting with a group of parliamentarians, said the next elections would be held on schedule and the Parliament would complete its tenure.

Talking to MNAs Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada and Sardar Tufail Ahmad, he said the main focus of the government’s economic policies was to improve the lot of the common man.

He said the PML and its allied parties would continue working for political and economic stability and promotion of Islamic values in the society.

The prime minister said the ruling party and its allies would contest the general elections on the basis of their performance, adding that the country had witnesses unprecedented economic development and rare political stability during the tenure of the present government.

The MNAs updated Mr Aziz on development schemes in their respective constituencies, and said completion of uplift projects would improve the socio-economic conditions of the people.
