GILGIT, Dec 15: The federal government has allocated Rs125 million for the construction of a cultural centre and an auditorium in Gilgit to preserve the rich culture and antiques of the northern region.

Officials said that Rs25 million would be spent on the construction of the auditorium, while the remaining Rs100 million would be used for the establishment of the cultural centre.

They said that a piece of land had been acquired in Jutial area of Gilgit and the construction work on the project was in progress.—APP
