CHARSADDA: ‘Fencing cannot divide Pukhtuns’

CHARSADDA, Jan 10: PML central senior vice-president Nisar Mohammad Khan on Wednesday said that the mining and fencing of the Pakistan-Afghan border could not divide the Pukhtuns living on both sides of the Durand line.

Addressing a press conference here, the PML leader said that the people of the both sides could not be separated ethnically or culturally.

He advised the Afghan president not to worry about all these developments, adding that the Karzai administration, installed by the US, had nothing to do with the local political leadership.

Mr Khan said that the Taliban were the product of Russian and American invasions on Afghanistan and that the US attacks had strengthened the Taliban movement.

He said that keeping in view the ongoing affairs in Afghanistan, the fate of Mr Karzai would not be different from that of former Afghan president Dr Najeeb.

The PML leader condemned the execution of Saddam Hussein on the Eid day.

He was of the view that America, India and Afghanistan had launched a conspiracy against Pakistan.
