HYDERABAD: Three killed as car, bus collide

HYDERABAD, Jan 12: Three people were killed and two others were injured when a car and a bus collided near Lunikot on the Super Highway on Friday. The deceased, identified as Ali Mohammad, son of Ashraf, 28, Kashf, son of Ameer Ali, 30, and Bilawal, son of Saleem Awan, 17, were residents of Model colony Karachi.

They were returning from Sehwan after visiting shrine of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz and going to Karachi.

The injured included Fahad Iqbal and Faheem Shahzad.

BODY FOUND: A man was found dead in mysterious circumstances in Chotki Ghitti vicinity of the City police area on Friday.

He received bullet injuries at the left temple.

The body was taken to the civil hospital.

A pistol and a motorbike without number plate were found from the place.

A national identity card (NIC) found from his pocket, revealed his identity as Shaharyar Ali Baloch, son of Sikandar Ali.

He was said to be a resident of Mirpur Bathoro, Thatta.

No case was lodged with the City police.

Police so far did not find any eye-witness to disclose how he was killed.

The incident took place in the street adjacent to the Habib hotel at around 6.30 pm.

Only a minor child told police that he had heard sound of fire and when he came out he found the man lying in a pool of blood.

He remained unattended for around an hour, according to the SHO city police station.

REMAND: The cantonment investigation police obtained police custody remand of an alleged gangster, Qurban Sheikh, who was caught by police after a chase near a bakery in the Cantonment police area.

He was produced before the judicial magistrate who remanded him to police custody for three days in a case registered on the complaint of SHO Agha Abdul Majeed.

Meanwhile, the condition of policeman, Arif, who received multiple bullet injuries while chasing the gangsters, remained critical.

He was admitted to the intensive care unit and several bottles of blood were administered to him.

Police said that Qurban told police that he had come to buy cake and was held hostage by bandits in the car.
