Oil-tanker explodes in Chaman

QUETTA, Jan 14: An oil-tanker carrying fuel for US forces in Afghanistan exploded and caught fire near the border town of Chaman on Sunday.

Sources said that the oil-tanker was parked with three other tankers at Chaman bypass when the explosion occurred.

The explosion overturned the tanker and a huge blaze started shortly afterwards, but no one was hurt and the other three tankers moved to safety, an officer of Chaman administration said.

“The cause of the explosion is not clear,” sources said, adding that the driver of the tanker had been taken into custody for grilling.

No one had accepted the responsibility of the explosion.
