ABBOTTABAD: Convict hanged

ABBOTTABAD, Jan 16: A man convicted in a triple murder case was hanged to death in the Abbottabad District Jail on Tuesday. Nazir Ahmed, a resident of Haripur, was found guilty of killing his uncle, aunt and their daughter over a land dispute in July 2001. He was awarded the death penalty by a session judge which was upheld by all senior courts. He has left behind five children. His is the second hanging in Abbottabad jail in 15 days. A few days ago another accused from Haripur — Zameer Elahi — was hanged.
