Attock endures another power breakdown
ATTOCK, Feb 4: The city witnessed another power breakdown here on Sunday when electricity supply remained suspended for over two hours during the weekend holiday.
The breakdown occurred at 7.30am and power was not restored before 10am, after the passage of two-and-half-hours.
The residents of the Darulslam Colony, in Attock city and it adjoining areas were badly affected by the unannounced power cut.
Electricity shutdowns and fluctuations, due to which home appliances are at a risk of being damaged, have now started occurring more frequently. This not only paralyses people’s routine life but also affects their business activities negatively, local residents complained.
Recalling a recent power breakdown the angry Darulsalam Colony residents said they had suffered a prolonged five-hour electricity breakdown from 7.30am to 12.30pm on Friday just two days ago. They added that the situation in rural areas was worse.
They pointed out to a number of inter-related causes for the increasingly frequent power shutdowns in both urban and rural areas.
They criticised Iesco authorities for their negligence and failure to ensure uninterrupted power supply to them.
