NAWABSHAH: Slow pace of anti-hepatitis drive deplored
NAWABSHAH, Feb 12: The district nazim of Nawabshah, Ms Faryal Talpur, has taken serious notice of the slow progress of prevention of hepatitis campaign and directed the concerned officials to effectively achieve the objectives of the programme.
She stated this while presiding over a meeting convened to evaluate the services delivery status under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Hepatitis, at the Darbar Hall here on Monday.
Speaking at the meeting, she said that she wanted to patronize the programme at the district level as its objectives were not being achieved with in the stipulated time.
She said that the district government would make all out efforts to achieve the objectives in the district as was envisaged in the control of hepatitis programme launched by the federal ministry of health.
She pledged to coordinate and integrate the resources to attain maximum outcome and to make the district hepatitis-free within the stipulated time. She said that the quota of treatment of hepatitis patient was low and urged the federal health ministry to enhance the quota of free screening and diagnosis to the people in need and treatment.
