HYDERABAD: SU plans history project

HYDERABAD, Feb 22: A complete history of Sindh would be written under the supervision of the University of Sindh and published by it. PC-I of the project will be submitted to the provincial and federal governments for funding.

This was decided at a meeting presided over by the university vice- chancellor, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, on Wednesday. The meeting decided to involve concerned departments including those of Muslim History and General History in the project.

It decided that the PC-I would be prepared in a week and submitted to the governments after review by department of planning and development of the university.

The proposal of the project was presented by Professor Aijaz Qureshi, which envisaged that the work would be completed in three to five years at the cost of about Rs3 to 4 million.

Shaukat Hussain Shoro, Zulfiqar Halepoto and others attended the meeting.

HOSTELS: The foundation stone laying ceremony of a 16-room girls’ hostel and five more rooms of boys’ hostel of the National Centre of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, University of Sindh, was held on Wednesday.
